I
am nostalgic with the name of West-Bengal because I am a Bengalese by birth. I
have born and brought up in the climate of Bengal. The tradition and culture of
Bengal are very much enriched with versatile resources and I am very much proud
of it. The development and prosperity of Bengal from all sides is the
missionary target of mine. I cannot put up with the downfall of Bengal because
it is heartrending to me. West-Bengal is the heartbeat of mine. The soil of
Bengal is my life. The culture of Bengal is my passion. I can never forget the
sacrifice of Bengal for the freedom of our motherland India. I get inspired
with the selfless sacrifice of freedom fighters of Bengal. They are my
heartthrob. I would like to see West-Bengal marching ahead of all states from
any angle of vision. I cry when anyone speaks of any ill of West-Bengal.
It
is very much aching to note that West-Bengal is now retarding and its glory is
gradually becoming fade on many issues. The shining face of West-Bengal, it is
shameful to iterate, is gradually tarnishing because of the steady sprouting up
of ugly heads of narrowness and meanness in the soil of Bengal without taking
into account of the consequences of it. Poverty, illiteracy, corruption,
unemployment, thinking of narrow interest and even the trend of religious
fundamentalism and communalism is on the rife leaving us in deep shame. We are
definitely to be got rid of these deadly vices if we want to hold the torch
light of glory of Bengal aloft.
If
I were the Chief-Minister of West-Bengal at the very outset I will send all the
back-pulling forces now very much in existence in the soil of Bengal in
permanent exile. I am committed to raise the good senses and feelings among the
Bengalese because without moral development no good can be achieved. It is the
basic philosophy of development and prosperity.
Illiteracy
is a curse because it invites the evil forces to rule merrily. I will be
obviously earnest to remove illiteracy from the soil of Bengal impending
additional interest to women education. The more the standard of education will
go up, the more the prosperity of Bengal will be ensured. I will definitely
emphasize on village education. In a word I will extend the boundary of
education.
The
unemployment problem in Bengal is the burning crisis now. Millions of working
hand here is workless for want of employment. The unemployed souls are getting
frustrated with steady erosion of their spirit to work. Those who are working
their employment are also at stake. Practically no opening of new industries is
experienced and even running factories are becoming closed on many issues. I
will work to keep the doors of the running factories open and side by side
invite investments in West-Bengal. I will denounce the hire and fire practice.
It is sure to reduce unemployment problems.
The
law and order system in West-Bengal is really miserable. If we do cast a look
at the law and order situation of Bengal we should definitely plunge into deep
frustration. Murder, rape and other antisocial activities are ruling
unchallenged here. It is more or less routine episode. As the Chief-Minister it
is my first and foremost duty to restore normalcy in law and order situation. I
must give a freehand to police administration to take action against those who
are poisoning Bengal with promotion of antisocial and criminal activities.
Political intervention in administrative functioning will never be allowed or
encouraged. West-Bengal can never be the state of hooligans and
miscreants.
Communalism
and religious fundamentalism will be a bygone conclusion here. I must work hard
to maintain communal harmony and amity in the state promoting the sense of
brotherhood. I must establish that Bengal is for all irrespective any cast or
creed. I will give exemplary punishment to those who will try to indulge
communal and religion clashes. In fact, I will always go on trying to iconize
West- Bengal as a model state of India in respect of all possible
considerations.
