Identification of a man in the best form



Life is moving now in jet speed. It is unimaginatively hard to keep pace with this speed. Practically speaking, everyone is running as fast as he can to face the challenges of life. That life is a great pleasure to enjoy is a bygone conclusion. The definition of life is at present radically changed because the concept of life is always changing its complexion and dimension. The elements that beautify a life are now waning out in momentum. It is not an exaggeration to comment that life is becoming robotized in the whirlpool of complexity. The way the meaning of life is changing in the streak plate of life, we are becoming both perplexed and outwitted to find out the true definition of life. We are forgetting that the cordial as well as understanding base relationship between man to man discloses the meaning of life in total fragrance. If we are debarred from emotion, feelings, sentiments, moral understanding and so on in relation with good senses and qualities we will never be able to build up human bonding and in absence of it a life becomes completely meaningless.
Sharing joy and grief with others in equal proportion is the true essence of life and when it comes into being meanness and narrowness find a suitable berth in a banishing island. It requires investment of time for others in greater orientation. It has now become a common understanding that there runs extreme paucity of time because we are always out of breath to face the challenges of life, always changing the resultant combination of factors and components. By courtesy of science and technology we get everything readymade, if we so try. So, the logic that time is very short stands untenable. Naturally there exist certain valid questions in our mind and the relevancy of those questions can never be ruled out willingly or unwillingly. Well, let the question of paucity of time be placed in the shelf temporarily for some obvious discussions in due pertinence.
Man is the architect of modern civilization. But it is not a quick fix. Investment of enough time has made it possible where collective effort of human being should definitely be taken into account in top priority. We are all society bound. We can never overrule the social code of conduct and it is time which has taught us this. Society or sociability is absolutely conceptual. It is to be felt and the understood. The fundamental characteristics of a society can be clarifies as down noted;-
·          A SOCIETY IS A GROUP OF SENTIMENT BEINGS.
·          A SOCIETY IS THE SUM TOTAL OF MUTUAL RELATIONSHIP OF HUMAN BEING.
·          A SOCIETY CAN BE DEFINED BOTH ELABORATELY AND CONDUCIVELY.
·          A SOCIETY CAN BE DEFINED BOTH IN TERMS OF COOPERATION AND CONTRADICTION.
Both cooperation and contradiction is well marked in a society. But a society runs in peril when contradiction triumphs over cooperation. In today’s world contradictions with no such dialectical approach are very much exposed in full command. Naturally alienating trends coupled with divisive outlets are gaining momentum. We express our reservation to maintain a healthy relation even to our next door neighbour. On the other hand we try to dominate him in terms of money, influence and other elementary factors. It gears up mental tussle to destabilize mental equilibrium. Without perfect analysis of our capacity and capability we are becoming the participants of rat race competition. As the resultant consequences; our morality, sense of human understanding, noble senses and sentiments are gradually going down to abysmal state. We are forgetting our traditional culture what elates us. Without keeping intact the maintenance elements of our cultural elements and components we are plunging into self development practice. We are strangely mortgaging our likings and pleasure to changing circumstances what turn us senseless human robot. A robot does have no intelligence and spontaneity. It acts according to instruction. It does not have any individual style to perform. It always acts as a dancing puppet or slave. The culture what does not give birth creativity and innovativeness is a meaningless culture. What is the sense of being the propagator of that culture? It is the beginning of new destruction.
A culture is better concerned with the utility and usage of the products being invented by man. E.B.Taylor, the writer of the book “PRIMITIVE CULTURE” has elaborately defined culture in this way :- “CULTURE IS THAT COMPLEX WHOLE WHICH INCLUDES KNOWLEDGE, BELIEFS, ARTS, MORALS LAW, CUSTOM AND ANY OTHER CAPABILITIES AND HABITS BY A MAN AS A MEMBER.” From this angle of vision it can be inferred explicitly without any crisis to transparency that the sum total activities of human being is called culture and none of us can survive without a specific cultural trend to follow. Or more in a easier way; a man who struggles hard to remain alive honestly with society compatible phenomenon being undisturbed is his own culture. But one thing should always be kept in mind that no cultural trend should be indulged what shatters the basic principles of a society. For the interest of the generation to come it is our fundamental duty to exhibit a society liable to nurse the basic senses of goodness in culture.
We can never hand over a society to the future generation what will eat away their possibilities and capabilities. It is the peremptory duty and responsibility of ours to hand over a new world to the future generation and we are obliged to this commitment, failing which History will never forgive us. Here stands the relevance of the question of sociability. It is the auxiliary force that builds up our personality to perfect identification. In consideration of the above we should take into account the environmental scenario with much importance because it shapes up the mental setup of a man living inside the boundary of that environmental society. That is why environment of the society and that society bound culture are intermingled with each other. An ordinary one can never be transformed to an extraordinary man unless environment is congenial. Again pedigree or genetic components is equally to be considered. To think with a difference is a factor always being fueled by family background. A boy of strong family background can go down up to that level where from possibility of return is well ensured. Without one or two exceptional cases he can never go to the litterbin. It is because; his family heritage always haunts him and his conscience does not allow him to do a thing what is grossly immoral.
If we want to retrieve our glorified cultural trend principles of relationship are definitely to be permutated on the basis of reality. Here sense of cooperation is very much important. “COOPERATION IS THE CONTINUOUS AND COMMON ENDEAVOUR OF TWO OR MORE PERSONS TO PERFORM A TASK OR TO REACH A GOAL THAT IS COMMONLY CHERISHED” – it is thus commented by a social thinker. But one thing is definitely to be kept in mind that sense of cooperation can hardly be promoted if the goal is same. Taking the common objective as the base the close psychological intimacy can set up a cooperation standing on moral attachment. Many of us are under the opinion that our culture has lost its originality and continuity. Keeping aside the motion of debate; if we want to restore the lost cultural heritage we are supposed to be up and doing to build up a mentality and need for restoration. Leaving aside the mechanized world we should come down close to the soil of the earth. This soil helps us to teach the main stream of culture, not an infertile one.
To let one know the characteristics of the soil the fundamental work is supposed to be initiated from the very early stage. Education should not be a burden to the children. Spring without colourful flowers is not longed for because the beauty of spring is the gone. Similarly if the objective of education is not clear to the children the purpose of education is eliminated from the root. Education does not aim at to work for individual good. We should always keep it in our mind that the individual betterment remains always unreachable if the concept of collective betterment is sidelined. To give priority to the institutional education does not qualify education in the true sense of the term. It promotes rat race competition and it always subscribes individual interest only where question of collectivity is always outthought. It also kills our spirit to protest against social ills and vices. As we are all society-bound elements no betterment is made ever possible if the society itself suffers from viral contamination of poisonous instincts. So it is the million dollar question today how we can protect the decomposition of human senses and understanding.
Is there any qualified sense to remain alive sending self-taught education and culture in permanent exile? Is there any value to play ducks and drakes with the main stream of education? How can we define a man? A man must have senses and prestige in even proportionate blending. It is the flow of main stream of culture that builds up a man in perfect shape. A life alienated from art and culture does never qualify a man considering all senses of human being. It is the fossil of a man. Collective thinking and commonness are the fundamental elements of us to be qualified as a man in true senses. This education is not a readymade achievement. It is the culture to be practised from the very beginning because it is a time consuming factor. We are to belief that ‘WE ARE ON THE SAME BOAT BROTHERS.” A relentless self-searching and self-analysis can only motivate us to be a complete man with pin-point precision. It is now time to take oath that avoiding all the restrictions and pessimism of life we should always sing the songs of life at the sense of any argument and we should pay honour to our traditional culture. Here lies the justifiability of human life.

What is happening?



Culture takes its own course – so many of us are under such optional opinion. A culture develops amidst so many cultural contradictions and conflicts. There stands no criterion overruling the fact that transforming culture is the natural continuation of the trend of the traditional culture. Outright rejection of the main stream of base culture brings a complete hegemony in cultural components of a nation. Naturally the future of a nation is sure to be doomed if cultural changes mismatch with the original flow of the culture. Migration of any cultural trend to a nation without any litmus test spoils the basic phenomenon of the culture of a nation and the countrymen feel like a fish out of water with the strange combination with disproportionate ratio. The world is now changing in rocket speed for obvious reasons, it is an undeniable fact. There is no luxurious leisure to think that the flow of culture and its components will remain unchanged. Let the changes be taken place; but that should be becoming to our national philosophy and characteristics. If anything runs in contradiction to it our cultural purity gets contaminated with vices and ills.
Many of the prudent personalities are under the dual-faced opinion that with the rapid changes of global socio-economic concepts changes in culture is an inevitable part. Again they shout aloud at the sight of cultural perversion. It is an ambiguity. Question of ambiguity should be sidelined while trying to theorize anything. Boldness and ambiguity is an arch rival. Cultural heritage will be bifurcated because ambiguous theorization, it can never be a permissible option. So, there is enough room to think over the matter more seriously in an analyzing outlook.
Despite taking into consideration the onslaught of the world of consumerism in every pocket of our life we can never be an indifferent spectator at the sight of cultural erosion. If we allow it in passiveness we will invite our destruction without any flaw. The culture of a nation keeps the spine of countrymen erect. It does not allow them to compromise with anything immoral or injustice. There arise the conceptual dialects in full struggle and it clearly divides the society into two groups.
It is obvious that infrastructural changes in socio-economic set up are taking place every moment as a way of pragmatism. It has a definite impact on culture by default. But we should always remember that the resultant force of culture because of application of different cultural forces from different directions must move in consonance with the main stream of the traditional culture of s nation. Any cultural amendment must be carried out keeping the foundation of the national culture undistorted. But we often forget this basic principle either of our own in deliberation or of circumstantial whirlpool.
As an Indian I am proud of Indian Culture with its long heritage in esteem. But it is fatal to note that some forces within our country are very much proactive to go for copy and paste of certain trends of Western Culture without considering the consequences of it. Culture varies from nation to nation because of changes in historical backdrop, geographical status, socio-economic setup and many other relevant factors, can’t be ignored or discard in anyway. It is always to be remembered, blind imitation of any foreign cultural component and that is to implant in our cultural concept without any scouring is a lethal attempt. And that is happening in Indian Culture and cultural decadence brings down the possibilities of India to go up nosedived. The circumstances in totality as prevailing now in critical composition are running absolutely in adverse. History never pardons anyone. We are not in a position to read the writings on the wall. We are to account for it definitely in the days to come. But then it will be too late and roads to come back will be closed completely.
Instances with referral treatments are very much in need to justify the proposition. Of late strange advertisements are coming up in the leading dailies. Yes, I am talking of “BOLD RELATIONSHIP”.  Many of us do not have any transparent idea on it. I may not be an exception to that. Women folk, not in general, are giving ad in the leading newspapers with their names and mobile numbers being printed and there is an enticing beckoning of fabulous income out of maintaining bold relationship. To maintain a BOLD RELATIONSHIP is a western culture. India is not well accustomed with this typical culture because the traditional culture of India does not ratify it. It is perhaps the ultimate stage of live together without any proper authorization. We are conversant with female prostitution. We condemn female fresh trading because it contradicts our ethical values of humanity. Finding no other resort out to earn livelihood a section of women folk undergoes prostitution. It is shame to us because we are incapable to show them separate source of earning with their dignity well fortified. Women sex workers always express their strong reservation in prostitution and they always try to go back to the main stream of life provided they get chance. They curse the existing socio-economic setup what maligns their female-hood dignity, purity and chastity. Practically speaking, we are undone but to accommodate this situation because optional policies are not within our control.
What does BOLD RELATIONSHIP stand for? Arguments and counter arguments may come up in course of discussion over the issue. Different explanations will not be unusual. Excuse me please, if I go for wrong interpretation. A section of women folk is seeking their bed partner in terms of money. This is the only truth without any adulteration. A woman who is always concerned with her chastity and purity wants to change his bed partner mortgaging her female identity. A woman is the source of creation of life. She is the creator with all versatilities. She feels proud of her motherhood. It is the fountain mouth of motherhood. But when we see the creator herself is damaging her identity in respect to motherhood is there anything left to justify her female identity. This trend is increasing as a way of contamination. This is a social virus forcing the society to stand on the verge of ruin. The society will thus lead to ultimate degradation and we will remain passive and reactionless, it is really funny. No logic or argument can substantiate this. It is definitely to be said that passiveness in this context endorses our escapism. We should always remember that the moral turpitude of a society ensures the total obliteration of good senses from the bed of the society. Once good senses are obliterated form the bed of the society especially in terms of motherhood the nation itself suffers from a major setback. It is now high time to think over it with proper remedial procedure. There is no sense to incorporate our culture with the trend as BOLD RELATIONSHIP.  
Those who are very much keen on importing this ugly trend of culture in the main stream of culture are the enemies of Indian Civilization. In the name of being modernized with western cultural philosophy they are murdering Indian Traditional Culture. They are the murderers. They are liable to be punished in charge of murder. To murder a single one is beyond doubt a crime; but to murder a civilization or a culture is a crime where no punishment is enough. So time is demanding to stop this kind of cultural erosion going to be institutionalized by some corrupt personalities or forces. At best we don’t want obviously our total extinction.

An interview



INTRODUCTION:-
·         ANAMI ROY is an upcoming writer with profound literary skill. His novel “ABANI AKHONO BECHE ACHE” (ABANI IS STILL ALIVE) has already stirred the reader society. This is first outing. But it is well understood that he is not an intruder in the world of literature. Critics are upbeat to say that this novel is a new milestone of Bengali Literature. It is an hair splitting analysis of the philosophy of life in compliance with modern trend of the society and how we are pressurized both psychologically and physically to combat the upcoming vices of the society, absolutely absorbed in total consumerism. Abani is not ready to accept the deteriorating trend of the society as it spoils the moral and ethical values of all human being. But he is to some extent undone to accommodate these because of circumstantial pressure. He wants to rebel, but as a rebellion he is going to be lost somewhere else. Sometimes he feels that he is alone in the battle of life because of not finding any positive glimpse of hope and sometimes he is the icon character to protest standing in a burning deck. Amidst climax and anticlimax this novel is a superb reflector of the mind of today’s youth. There stands no sense of hesitation or ambiguity in his placement, on the contrary he is very much firm in his dialectical argument.

·         PRATUYSH DASSHAMA is a vibrant critic in the literature segment of an esteemed Bengali Daily “AGAMI DINER BARTA” (MESSAGE OF THE DAYS TO COME). As a critic he has already attained requisite fame and interested personalities eagerly wait for his criticism because he does never allow the writer to bypass while replying his sharp questions. He knows how to take out the real truth from the writer’s mind.

[It is now almost 10’o clock sharp in the morning. Sitting on an old fashioned wooden armchair Anami Roy is absorbed in reading an English Novel. The cover page of the book is torn. Naturally the book is unidentified. Tea in a cup is getting cold. So many books are found heaping up on a small wooden cot. He is looking quite indifferent to outside noise. Suddenly there is a knocking at the closed door. Who is now again? Don’t I have any time to read unconcerned? He is to some extent vexed. Yet he stands up and opens the door.]
Anami: -      Who are you, please?
Pratuysh: -   I am Pratuysh Dassharma, coming from “AGAMI DINER BARTA”.
Anami: -      (Standing at the threshold of the door). Is it? How can I help you?
Pratuysh: -   I have come here to have a close discussion with you on “ABANI AKHONO BECHE ACHE”, recently published novel of yours. I am really impressed with the novel and the character of ABANI is portrayed with a marked difference.
 Anami: -     That may be. Please be requested not to plead me for an interview. I am a man of very low profile. I always want to remain behind the curtain. I don’t want to come into the lime light. This is my principle. I want to remain alive with the pride of unidentified star.
 Pratuysh: - No. no. I don’t come here to seek an interview of yours. My objective is to have a gossip with you. I would like to discover that man who has already created a violent storm in my mind. Well, please tell me if you are not interested to have a close interaction with a personality thinking alike. Is it anything wrong?
 Anami: -     You are really importunate. Do come in, please. Once more I am reminding you, I will withdraw myself if I ever feel that you are trying to take an interview of mine strategically.
 Pratuysh: -  Question does not arise. It’s a gentleman’s agreement. I don’t compel anybody to break his principle on request.
 Anami: -     Well tell me what your quest is? But time is very limited.
 Pratuysh: -  Abani is an ordinary measured character. There is nothing specialty in him. What is the recipe of yours to turn him so lively in the novel with all versatilities? Is it your imagination or a character in real existence? How have you converted Abani as a distinguished character, very much close to our mind? I find Abani in every phase of our life.
 Anami: -     I don’t know wherefrom to start. Abani is a representative character with all values of life holding aloft. He never wants to be a defeated soldier in the battle of life. Life prompts him to fight without any discontinuation. Naturally he fights against poverty, social decadence and exploitation. He is characterized as a relentless fighter.
 Pratuysh: -  Yes, struggle is the real essence of life. Amidst Himalayan struggles in tandem Abani is not found mentally exhausted or fatigued, on the contrary he gets in-exhaustive fuel to refill his indomitable spirit. What’s the mystery behind it?
 Anami: -     look, Abani is under firm conviction life bobs up and down in the turbulent ocean. It is struggle in series that beautifies a life. He believes; a life without varieties of rhythm does not have any charm. Charmless as well as insipid life is boredom to us. So we see Abani in mass rallies against Social Ills. Economic Disparities, Moral Deterioration, Down Going Human Values, Exploitation and deprivation and so on. He is the burning torchlight in every phase of such erupting situation. He does not know how to compromise with any immoral that spoils the spirit and essence of life. Naturally he opts for road to know the life.
 Pratuysh: -  There are so many crises in Abani’s personal life. His father is paralyzed. Mother is the patient of chronic asthma. His only sister is unmarried. She is in desperate search of a life partner who can give her a permanent address. Yet Abani is to some extent with these issues. Is it not the dereliction of responsibilities? How can you explain it?
 Anami: -     Excuse me; you are perhaps little bit mistaken to analyze Abani. He nurses her ailing mother remaining sleepless nights after nights, he is caring to his paralyzed father and equally sympathetic to her sister. It is well exposed in the run of the novel. He is very much concerned with these problems. But at the cost of these he does not want to forget his social responsibilities. He is a dedicated and committed soldier fighting against social ills. Yes, Abani is the character of different thought.   
 Pratuysh: -  Does Abani believe in particular ism? I mean to say that does he rely upon communism. Is it so or he is freelance social worker? How do you define it? I would like to have a free and frank discussion from your end. Please don’t keep anything veiled.
 Anami: -     Look, I hate hide and sick policy. Despite abject poverty I fight for truth. Truly speaking I am seeker of truth in life. I did never want to mortgage the truth of my life and in future it would never be. Abani is just like me so far as the boldness of character is concerned. Yes, Abani unhesitatingly relies upon the philosophy of communism. It is the best philosophy of life that can touch the heart of anyone. It teaches us to stand by a man in crisis. It is the duty of every human being to give a shadow companion to a crisis victim man with an exposure of reasons behind the crisis. Communism preaches us how to tide over social crises out of economic disparities. Many of our elite personalities are under the impression that communism is now outdated phenomenon. Those intellectuals are trying to theorize that. My Abani is the standing protest against those prostitutions which are trying to toy with the basic truth of that philosophy.
Pratuysh: -   At the concluding stage of the novel your Abani is struggling with death in the bed of the hospital. He has been brutally stabbed by the miscreants in charge of organizing a mass rally against gang-rape, now a very common feature of the day. You have not completed the novel with a definite conclusion. What is the reason behind it?
Anami: -      Abani is struggling with death, but he is yet to succumb. Time and age will not allow Abani to have a premature death. It is the call of time to keep Abani alive for a new struggle to start. His sister is sitting beside Abani’s bed in the hospital. Tears are raining down from her eyes. She is sobbing with a chocked voice,” Brother, I want to live with prestige. I don’t want to be sold as a commodity. I don’t want to be raped. Get come round soon. You are the forerunner of new age. You are the Prometheus. Is it not a message to us? So my Abani will remain alive so long exploitation, deprivation and frustration continue in full fury. Abani is not a fake communist. He does not want to enjoy both the prestige of the left and privilege of the right together. Anyway I am now tired of talking with you. Please excuse me. One thing more, you are tricky enough. You have completed your interview. 
Pratuysh: -   I am giving you the word of honour that it will never see the light of the day so long you are alive. But I am sure of one thing that your Abani can never die. He is immortal for the cause of the society. Reader society will be eagerly waiting for your write-ups where truth never compromises with injustice and immortality. I came to understand that exception is the other face of life. Well, I am going for the day itself. But I will come again because I want to face the truth of life time and again.
