A DREAM BECAME TRUE

Every one of us dreams as a way of responding to natural instinct. We dream by habit. As we all want to decorate our life in full resplendence we try hard to turn our dreams into reality. That is called the success of life. A man who can translate most of his dreams in precise perfection in the streak plate of reality comes close into touch with the cascade rhythm of life. A dreamless man is just like a ship without a rudder in deep sea. He can simply drift away in the ocean of life without knowing the whereabouts of his destination as such. A man is called a failure one when he does not reach his destination. Life then appears to him dull and insipid. Such a life is a burden to each and everyone because it is charmless. This is absolutely painful. If any dream is turned into success mind is then filled up with an inexplicable joy with no boundary at all.

We all are avid seeker of happiness in life. But it is a relative term not having any shape in particular and the source of happiness varies from man to man because the coordinates of mental setup never concur at a particular point. All want to be happy, but the flashing point of happiness is unknown to them in most of the cases. So far as my case is concerned, I was not exception to that before I came across to that incident. To be very honest, it is the turning point of my life. I came to understand the basic philosophy of happiness and that was my dream.

Want is always infinite. Limitless want converts our life into misery. Wants can never stand in a particular point. It grows and grows. The more want grows up, the more we plunge onto trouble. That need base want is the source of real happiness and this simple truth was unknown to me. Though real happiness is my dream since I have come into senses the basic recipe to achieve that was not reachable to me.

Not the episode of long back it is. I was sitting alone in the front balcony of my house. I had a very casual look in the street. Suddenly I found a poorly clad girl, at best thirteen or fourteen, begging from door to door. The sun was scorching. I felt pity for the girl as she had been fighting with misfortune. My heart got moistened and melted too. The girl came at the door my house with an appeal to give her some alms. The appeal was so fervent that I was deeply moved. I came down and helped her with a fifty rupee note. She at once refused to accept my offer and said,” Look, I need Rs fifty a day. I have already had Rs 30/- at my disposal. I need only Rs.20/- more to fulfill my need. I can’t accept Rs.30/- in excess because it will step up my need the very next day. I do beg, but that should never go beyond my need. Need in excess is the root of discontentment. Please, try to understand my problem.”

We all claim our superiority. But an illiterate, perhaps slum-bred, girl exposed my eyes with an awareness to the true destination of happiness. I thanked her a lot because she helped me to identify the track of real happiness, my only dream. I am now really happy with no confusion.         

TRAFFIC JAM

Time is now very busy. We are now really helpless to keep pace with the speed of modern fast life. We are now really tired of encountering problems coming as waves in our life. To sort out those problems is not an easy task because those are different in characteristics and nature. As life is now very fast it is botheration indeed when we consume unreasonable time for conveyance. Needless to mention, conveyance system has now developed beyond imagination. Yet more time is consumed on the road to move from one place to other. Despite on road traffic being increased largely the movement of traffic is notable poor. “TRAFFIC JAM”, the reasons are not always explained with logic, is mainly responsible for slow traffic movement and in many cases it has become the nightmare to us.

While talking of traffic jam it can be concluded with least hesitation that movements of traffic on busy roads violating grossly the traffic rules cause traffic jam. Traffic laws as laid down are very strict and minimum obedience to these rules can easily keep the traffic movement smooth enough and it hardly shoots any trouble to the passengers. Reckless and unorthodox driving assure that to break traffic rules is the basic formula to show no violation to traffic rules. Unnecessary overtaking accompanied with reckless driving has now become a very common feature of the day. Synchronizing movements do not create any disruption to traffic movement. But that is hardly experienced. So, traffic jam is magnifying with all troubles in our life.

The office-goers, the school going children always move with the hands of clock because their assignments are always time-bounding. Consumption of excess time for hospital or nursing home going critical patients stands always dangerous and sometimes fatal too. It is our traditional teaching that time is always precious and wastage of time always brings unhappiness in life. That is why we always denounce traffic jam. it is an unthoughtful act and never to accommodate on any reason.

It has become go of the day to organize rally or procession to expose our grievances on the road. Every man has the right to lodge their grievances. It is an obligatory part to every individual’s life. But we should keep it in our mind that we should not jeopardize the normal civic life by organizing rallies and processions during the busiest time of everyday life. We can never accommodate the death of a patient because of not being admitted in a hospital or a nursing home for traffic jam which is in most of the cases is man made. We condemn traffic jam because it is the standing curse of our everyday life.

Mere enactment of more stringent laws can never give us any relief. Traffic polices are definitely to be strict enough to regulate traffic rules effectively. In case of violation of traffic rules exemplary punishment will have to be conducted. The more traffic rules will be obeyed with no violation, the more the traffic system will be easy.               

JOINT FAMILY VIS-A-VIS NUCLEAR FAMILY

“JOINT FAMILY OR NUCLEAR FAMILY’- it is the much talked about contradiction of the day. Some advocate for joint family and some cast their favour for nuclear family. The issue is hardly un-debated. While formulating any definite opinion over the issue arguments and counter arguments run in tremendous confusion. None wants to switch over from his own standpoint. Those who plead for joint family concept cite optimism in joint family concept and they discard the concept of nuclear family because it narrows the liberalization of mind with a steady promotion of self-centered activities. The advocators of nuclear family plead that everyone has the right to live with individualism and individual comfort should not be sacrificed in the altar of collective comfort.

The pragmatics of joint family, it should be opined so on the ground of reality, can never be sidelined. The advantages of joint family are immense from different angle of consideration. At the very outset, it develops commonness and collective approach. We all seek happiness in the run of life. But that happiness is a remote chance when collective happiness is sent in exile. One can never remain in happiness if others surrounding him remain in unhappiness. Happiness is not a commodity to be purchased against money. It is a reflective feeling and that is to be perceived keeping mind in complete liberalism. It comes from different senses and different kind of teachings. Joint family concept tutors us how to share joy and sorrow with others. We are compromise positively if we want to lead a life in peace and tranquility. Joint family concept is the ideal form to teach that. There is no room for self-centered activities in a joint family. Question of individualism is a bygone conclusion in a joint family. Want to live alone with individual happiness and comfort is unrealistic and joint family concept teaches that very effectively with examples. None can deny that example is better than precept. Besides this, in a joint family we know how to reconcile with others thinking on common minimum consideration. The members of a joint family never run with same mental setup. Differences and contradictions are very common there. Yet, we live under the same roof giving up our own egoism. It teaches us the sense of unity among diversities. It is the only concept what propels our future in the right direction.

On the other hand; nuclear family may subscribe individual comfort up to the end level, but that is not enough to lead a life peacefully. Self-centered activity is a factor to count and it spoils our life from the root. A self-centered man only counts his individual benefit with no consideration to other’s interest. This kind of people is always disliked on the floor of the society as they contribute nothing to the good to the society. A life is just like a flowing river with a rocky bed. There are many ups and downs, trials and tribulations. A man grown up in a nuclear family concept can never put a strong fight against the odds of life and in most of the cases they become defeated in the battle of life. As nuclear family contributes to own benefit only a man grown under the canopy of this concept does not know how to compromise if the situation demands so at the different sharp “U” turns of life. Boldness becomes fragile in a nuclear family because there is no struggle for existence. A person in a nuclear family builds up his own imaginary castle and in case that castle gets collapsed in the tug of war of life the person fails to bounce back with inextinguishable spirit. Meanness and narrowness are the two basic byproducts of nuclear family. Liberalized mind in a nuclear family concept is a remote chance, but a joint family concept subscribes that effectively.

Nuclear family concept may subscribe transitory earthly benefits; but considering the entire optimisms joint family concept we should denounce the nuclear family concept. It underscores the values of life and a person with a trend of elimination of the moral and ethical values of life should never be taken into consideration a man at all.
