Science and superstition

The conflict and contradiction between Science and Superstition is inevitability. Science is light; but superstition is absolute darkness in darkness. Science gives priority to analytical reasoning with an existence of logical elements; but superstition abodes in the weakness of human mind that relies upon certain mystic power not having any base from scientific angle of vision. Superstition retardates the growth human civilization but science is very much keen on accelerating that for the benefits of mankind. Civilization advances with the development of science and technology. So the utility of scientific reasoning is beyond all arguments.
Now the question what stands for superstition? In a wider sense superstition means unreasoning fear for the unknown mysterious elements yet to be explained in the light of science. It is a term denoting false or bias as scientific explanations of all mysteries are made possible today or tomorrow with advancement of science. What appears today a real mystery tomorrow that can be explained inevitably with reasoning of science? Superstition initiates from a point where science apparently fails to explain any occurrence with valid reasons at our disposal. It thrive its roots down to the soil of religious faith. It is a practice or blind faith handed down from generation after generation. As Goethe said,”Superstition is a part of the very being of humanity.”
In common language superstition is a term of disgrace or reproachable senseless belief based on fear out of ignorance. It brings about many harmful as well as shameful practices with no explanation to our intelligence and wisdom. No.13 is unlucky. None knows the reason but it is universal belief. Crossing of a cat before a moving vehicle on the road is very much prone to an accident. It’s a bias belief. Still it is continuing. Harmful practices on superstition sprouts up as a regular episode in remote villages where light of education is yet to peep in to that extent by which the villagers can fight out the vices of superstition.
Science is always reason binding. The superstitious are to be torn out with scientific explanations. Science aims at rigorous activation of logic in human minds. We should come into conclusion; there runs no mystery in nature. Everything is well knitted in the laws of science.
Science is always developing. There is no ultimate of it. Experiments and observation are going relentlessly. But nature is full of mysteries. So many mysteries are yet to explain by scientific theories. Superstition spreads its cobweb of net where science finds certain limitations to explain the mystery. So it’s a prime requisite to collapse the wall of mystery hidden in nature with the dynamite of scientific logic.
We are not supposed to indulge omens as these are the clutches of superstition ensuring our logic to devastation. Whatever may be the incidental effect it should be appreciated not to be a victim of omens as there is no truth behind it? Right at this moment cause of superstition may be unidentified but that is definitely be explained a day with the logic of science.
Illiteracy and ignorance is the happy zone where superstition starts breeding. Education brings conscience and consciousness fights out superstition to spread. Naturally it is the call of the day to stretch the boundary scientific education in all sectors of society.

Superstition is a social malice. It is well cultivated in remote villages by vested interest people. We are obviously to promote the culture of science in order to get rid of the gimmicks of the superstition.
